A Filmmaker's Journey

Castoriginal Productions is an independent film company founded by myself, J.D. Casto, in late 2006.

In May of 2011 I graduated from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida with a Critical Media and Cultural Studies (CMC) and Film Studies degree. Within the CMC degree, my concentration focused on the way religion and philosophy is portrayed in mainstream popular media.

My experience includes writing and directing multiple award winning short films, interning with Strategic Film Partners at the 61st Cannes Film Festival, interning in the Programming Office for the 2010 Florida Film Festival, volunteering as a reporter for the 2010 US Social Forum (USSF) in Detroit in which a film was published by the Michigan News Center, as well as interning in Ricart Automotive‘s Advertising Department. My most recent projects include a commercial for a local OBGYN practice, Contemporary Women’s Care, as well as a promotional video for Rollins College’s Office of Development.
